JACK WALSH
Jack is delighted to revisit his eleven(!) roles in Guerilla days in Ireland after a very enjoyable
run last year at Theatre by the Lake Gougane Barra and the Everyman Palace Theatre in
Cork.
Recent work includes There are Strings, a show about a puppet who has to sign on
the dole, which debuted at Feile na Bealtaine, Dingle; Titanic-Blood and Steel (12 part
TV series), and Ripper Street (BBC), as well as playing Mattie in On the Batter by Anthony
Goulding at The Complex, Dublin. Favourite theatre roles include Dan Milligan in Puckoon
by Spike Milligan (Irish Tour & Leicester Square Theatre, London); Michael Feeney in Arrah
Na Pogue (Abbey Theatre); Jake in Stones In His Pockets (as Gaeilge) for Aisling Ghear at
the West Belfast Festival and Milwaukee Irishfest; Arturo Ui in THE Resistable Rise of Arturo
Ui (Belfast Waterfront & Irish Tour); Bosola in The Duchess of Malfi (Loose Canon at the
Project); Pod in The Borrowers (Helix, Dublin); Gregor Samsa in Metamorphosis , the title
role in The Blizzard Wizard, and The King in Once upon a Mattress ( all Lyric Theatre Belfast);
Max in Bent (Blue Raincoat, Sligo); The Gravedigger and The Player King in Hamlet (Second
Age, Tivoli). Shows at the Abbey Theatre include Julius Caesar, Tarry Flynn, The Secret Fall
of Constance Wilde, the Life of Gallileo, The Shadowy Waters, A Full Moon in March, The
Countess Cathleen, The Reel McCoy and Democracy. He also played in The Only Jealousy
of Emer, and Act Without Words 2 (Samuel Beckett Centre), Poor Superman (Project @ The
Mint), Letters to Felice (Pavilion), The Odd Couple (Civic), The Playboy of the Western World
(Big Telly Irish Tour), the Crunch (based on Tartuffe, Island, Limerick); Shesawhore (Project
Cube) and As You like It (Classic Stage Ireland at The Helix) .
Jack trained at The Focus Stanislavski Studio, the Oscar School of Acting and L’Ecole de Mimodrame de Paris MARCEL MARCEAU. He worked as an assistant to Marceau in Italy and the USA and in Europe with Le Theatre de La Sphere, La Mandragore and Le Croc’ Mot Theatre. Screen credits include Ripper Street, Killinaskully, Fair City, The Escapist, the Tudors, Sherlock Holmes, Parnell and the Englishwoman and Educating Rita.
